Governance Committees and Task Forces

The Community Association Board of Directors has formed 13 Governance Committees to assist and advise in the governance of Sun City TX. These committees are appointed from residents who apply and are nominated by the Nominating Committee (one of the Governance Committees). Each Governance Committee also includes ex officio liaison representatives from the Board, from other closely-related committees, and from the Community Association Staff. The committees typically conduct their business at regular monthly meetings. Minutes are maintained and available for these meetings and, except in special circumstances, the meetings are open to all residents as observers.

Governance Committees may set up standing or ad hoc subcommittees to deal with specific issues or areas of their responsibility. The membership of such subcommittees should include one or more members of the parent committee, but need not be limited to members of the parent committee. Subcommittees have no powers independent of the parent committee.

From time to time, the Board of Directors will authorize the formation of a task force for a specfic purpose.
