Sun City Country Western Dance Club

Dance Etiquette

  • Remember always to dance in line of dance (counterclockwise) when on the dance floor.   If you are dancing slowly or covering less room in your steps than others, dance to the center (more inside lane) and allow those moving faster to use the outside of the floor.
  • For dances that can be danced by circulating or dancing on one spot on the floor, the center most portion of the floor shall be reserved for the spot dancers and the periphery for those circulating.   For example, a polka or 2-step that can also be danced as a swing dance (spot dance).
  • Line-dancing will be limited to the food serving area of floor unless a line-dance is specifically called for on the playlist or by the master of ceremonies i.e., four square line-dance (Elvira, etc.).
  • If you wish to stop and talk, leave the dance floor. Do not stop and visit with either your partner or other friends on the dance floor while music is being played. This is inconsiderate and potentially dangerous.
  • CA etiquette for events and dances regarding Snacks/drinks and clean-up shall apply to all Club functions.
  • NEVER touch a cowboy’s hat without first asking for permission.
