T
he AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom driver
improvement course.
The eight-hour course is taught in two, four-hour sessions spanning two days, and
costs $12. The course helps drivers refine existing skills and develop safe, defensive
driving techniques. AARP members and non-members alike may take the course. There are no
tests.
Upon successfully completing the course, graduates of AARP Driver Safety Courses
may receive a discount on their auto insurance
premiums. Please check with your auto insurance carrier to see what discount, if any, you may
receive.
AARP classes do not qualify for ticket dismissal in Texas unless you have previously
contacted the appropriate county judge and she/he has agreed to it.
Please see the current
Sun Rays magazine for dates and location of the classes for that month. Bring your
drivers license to the first class session. Please buy your tickets at the
Community Association Office.
