Sun City Texas Softball Club

The Softball Club (SCTSC) has over 70 Sun City individuals (men & women) who have joined and are playing softball.

Because Sun City does not yet have a softball field, arrangements have been made with the Georgetown Parks & Recreation to use their fields a number of times a week.  The Georgetown fields are located in San Gabriel Park off College Ave across from the VFW. The Club is presently playing a 7-inning game on Wednesday afternoon beginning about 1 PM and is having a practice session on Monday's beginning about 8:30 AM.

The SCTSC is presently using a modified version of the Senior Slo-pitch Softball rules. These modified rules are designed to minimize player accidents by allowing base over-run, pinch runners, no sliding and using a alternate "Home Plate" for runners to avoid collisions between the catcher and base runnner.

Anyone who enjoyed the sport in the past and would be interested participating in this great pasttime should come and join the group on Monday's and on Wednesday's.  There are some in the group who had never played before and have developed into very active and enthusiastic ballplayers.

The SCTSC is working with the developer to construct a new Softball Complex beginning in mid 2009 with the expected completion by the end of 2009. The new softball Complex will be located on Sun City Blvd past the water tower, next to the Horticultural Gardens.
