The Fabric and Fiber Club is one of the oldest clubs in Sun City.
Originally founded as a group that loved to “Sit ‘n
Stitch”, it quickly expanded to include weaving, quilting, and sewing.
One of the main purposes of the group is to provide a
meeting place where members can enhance their skills and stimulate creativity related to the use of
fabric and fiber.
The club now includes not only traditional fiber
arts, but also rug hooking, beading, rubber stamping and scrapbooking. Joining the Fabric &
Fiber club allows a member access to all of the individual groups.
The various SIGs have classes, instructions, field
trips, and retreats. The club enjoys social events together.
Recent opportunities for the Club to give back to the
community include the club donating dozens and dozens of quilts to the Soldier Project and the
Linus Project among others. Members enjoy working and playing in a creative
atmosphere.
During remodeling and expansion of the crafts center, the SIGs are meeting in
various locations throuthout Sun City. Check the calendar portion of the club's website for
specific locations.
